3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Skin: May produce an allergic reaction (particularly with repeated or prolonged exposure) with people already with a sensitized skin.
Eyes: Concentrate irritating to the eyes.
Inhalation: Not an inhalation hazard under normal conditions of use.
Ingestion: Low oral toxicity.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Skin: Promptly wash areas in contact with concentrate; if any irritation is prolonged seek medical attention.
Eyes: In case of contact with the eyes, rinse (flush) immediately with plenty of water and continue for at least 15 minutes; if irritation continues or if in doubt seek medical advice.
Ingestion: If ingested, do not make casualty vomit; wash out mouth with water, give large quantities of water to drink immediately; if symptoms persist seek medical attention, particularly if more than small quantities swallowed.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Not flammable.
In event of a fire caused by another cause, containers could melt releasing preparation solution which could release low levels of formaldehyde vapors; firefighters ought to be informed, but it is not expected to generate a significant hazard.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Prevent entry into drains and watercourses (see 12)
Following spillage inside (shed/store), open doors and windows to give ventilation.
Any spillage should be cleaned up promptly, swept up and placed in a clean labeled open container for safe disposal. Do not allow to mix with sawdust/straw and other combustible or organic substances.
Depending on the degree and nature of the contamination, dispose of by us as a turf nutrient or to an authorized waste facility.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Do not drink;
Keep locked up and out of the reach of children;
Avoid contact with the skin;
Use concentrate only in well-ventilated areas;
Avoid contact with the eyes;
Avoid misting during application;
Follow the manufacturer’s guidance in dilution/application rates.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
When handling concentrate wear suitable gloves and eye protection
9. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
Form: aqueous liquid
Colour: golden brown
pH: 5-6.5
Solubility: aqueous solution fully miscible in more water
Density: 1.18 – 1.21 g/ml approx.
Odor: Weak ammoniacal odor.
10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stable under ambient conditions
Non-combustible
Plastic containers may be destroyed by fire, combusting to release toxic fumes.
If fire evaporates the water leaving a solid residue, it may decompose releasing ammonia.
11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The preparation is not classified as hazardous as stated above, contains a low level of formaldehyde preservative, below concentrations considered hazardous under CHIP 2/3 regulations;
May have allergic reactions on pre-sensitised skin.
12 ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No harmful effects if used as recommended
Low toxicity to aquatic life
No potential for bioaccumulation
Readily biodegradable in soil and water
It contains plant growth promoter and relatively high plant nutrient ( particularly nitrogen) therefore may promote plant growth in watercourses. Heavy spillage may cause adverse environmental impacts such as eutrophication in confined waters or nitrate contamination
Prevent entry to the drains
If spillage occurs do not contaminate surface waters or ditches
Inform the appropriate authority in the event of accidental watercourse contamination>
13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Return or dispose of container in an appropriate manner, in accordance with local regulations
Container recyclable (polyethylene).
